Hair at the Ritz answers your questions about hair extensions.
Q-How do I know that I am a good candidate for natural hair extensions?A. If your goal is to obtain length, volume, texture or to add “high or low-lights” to
prevent damage to your real hair, then you are a candidate. Also, if your hair is thinning beyond what is acceptable to you, you will be a great candidate. I know of a few clients who fall into this “thinning” category, and all are extremely happy with the hair extension results: longer, fuller, wavy, healthier-looking hair. I do believe that a woman’s hair reflects her spirit!A.Approximately between 3-5 months. On occasion, you might have an extension “fall out”.
This will not be, however, on a daily basis, providing the extension was properly attached and, providing, the client follows the prescribed “home maintenance procedure,” which will be clearly explained to you.Q. Can I let my hair air-dry or must I blow it dry?

A. You can either air dry or blow dry hair extensions, depending on the texture. For you would want to air dry curly or wavy hair extensions and blow dry straight extensions.

Q. Can I use styling products in my hair following the hair extension application?A. Absolutely! Natural hair extensions are treated as your natural hair.Q. Can I continue coloring or highlighting my hair when I have hair extensions?A. Yes you can. However, your stylist must understand that the color must not touch or penetrate the bond to avoid weakening the structure. This could lead to the bond disattaching sooner than it might otherwise.Regarding both color and highlighting your natural hair regrowth, the stylist can follow the normal procedures. BUT, do not attempt to highlight the extension hair.Period.
The extension pieces can,
however, be “darkened” only 2 shades, using ONLY demi/semi permanent color; 5/10/15 volume peroxides — not 20-volume and over.
Q.How long must I wait to have my hair colored or highlighted before or after having the extensions applied?
A. A 7-day waiting period is sufficient.
